11 replaced characters from the movie Harry Potter! Including Dumbledore and Voldemort!
Harry Potter has been the most popular series among the young generation, but has been seen and loved by people of almost all ages. The consistent characters throughout the eight movies made us able to see them grow literally before our eyes, and also we grew together with them!
The creators of the movie tried their best to cast same actors for the same roles, but since all eight parts of the movie took years to be made, some actors couldn’t be able to continue with the franchise. So the creators had to cast similar actors for those roles, without letting people notice any change in that character. You would be shocked to know that these characters were replaced by other actors, and you couldn’t even notice them! Here you go!
1. Albus Dumbledore
The role of wise headmaster of Hogwarts in the first two movies was played by Richard Harris, the great stage and screen legend. Sadly, he passed away and the creators had to bring another great actor Micheal Gambon in for this character.
2. The lady in the elegant portrait at the Gryffindor common room’s entrance, was Elizabeth Spriggs in the movie Sorcerer’s Stone, but she was then replaced in Azkaban by a lively comedian, Dawn French.
3. Elphias Doge
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the role of Dumbledore’s old friend and eulogist was played by a veteran British actor, Peter Cartwright. Whereas in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, this role was played by another veteran British actor David Ryall. The sad news is that both actors are no longer in this world.
4. Mafalda Hopkirk
The British comedian, Jessica Hynes’ voice was played on the howler received by Harry from Mafalda in Order of the Phoenix. Later in Deathly Hallows: Part 1, when Mafalda actually appeared on the screen, the role was completely played by Sophie Thompson.
